The theme of this piece is rebirth. What does it mean to you, especially at this time in your life? Astrologically, we’re collectively emerging from what has been a deep dive into our psyche’s, revealing old patterns of behaviour and outdated thoughts that need releasing. If you are in tune, you may have sensed a deeper resurgence of your inner truth evolving and coming to the surface wanting to express and explore who you truly are.
You may feel more authentic in how you communicate with yourself and others. You may be finding yourself setting new boundaries and being able to uphold them with a greater ease as you develop the muscles of learning to choose yourself over others. Equally, you may find yourself thinking about how you want to show up in the world and how to develop these new muscles. Hopefully you’ve been feeling a sense of renewal and rebirth on some level in your life. Before renewal, old skins must shed to create room for new beginnings.
If this is resonating for you, you may be trying to figure out how you move from where you are now to where you want to be. It might feel like it’s another person looking at you in the mirror and you can see them, but it’s not quite tangible as yet.
So the question is, what steps can you take to bring forth the inner you?

Evolution is a journey, it takes time, but the more time you put into your inner life the more you are able to hear the inner callings from your consciousness and self-awareness. The truth is that you have and hold all the answers that you ask of yourself. To reach them, you need to still yourself enough to listen. Sometimes, it can be fear inducing to silence the noise. It calls for courage and a degree of being perceived as ‘selfish’ may ensue. That’s the process of choosing yourself. Start developing awareness of how you distract yourself eg, procrastination or listening to loud music in the car or public transport. Remember, you have choices and can instead lean into something that is meditative, calming and soothing. I’ve done it too, but now I know the feeling of taking some time out for myself during the busy times of mothering or being a leader or a friend. I know that I require inner sustenance to find and hold my inner voice of truth which allows me to be more authentic in my daily life.
How do you listen?
I’m sure you’ve heard it before, breath work, breath work, breath work, but honestly, remembering to breathe is such a powerful self-awareness skill that you can develop with ease. Know that this will take some work on your behalf. It will require discipline and focus to achieve this. My best advice is to do it for a few minutes before you start the day, or just before you sleep. This is when the mind is in alpha state, meaning that the brain is a little more relaxed preparing for sleep, or just as you start to arouse from sleep, before you open your eyes is best. If those times don’t work, steal time in your lunch break, just become consistent around it.
If you can develop the habit of taking 10-15 deep belly breaths, in for 4-5 seconds, hold for same and breath out for 6-7 seconds, it will calm your nervous system and help you to develop a deeper connection to yourself
If you can start to develop this practice during your day, you will start to feel a sense of empowerment, relaxation and peace. Relaxation is where the calm of the nervous system dwells in power, your power. Your power place is in the calm, relaxed side of you. Your brain, specifically your prefrontal cortex (PFC) is what gets triggered when you feel stressed, agitated and hyped. It diverts energy and creates that sensation of fight and flight which is an evolutionary response to fear and basic survival. We need that in the wild, but not in our modern day to day experiences.
The PFC is responsible for executive functioning like decision-making, reasoning and the ability to think. It’s where self-regulate our emotions. Being able to sit in the calm of your breath empowers you regulate your emotions thus influencing how you respond and express emotion in any situation. When you start to learn to do this, triggers become fallen arrows, meaning, they can’t affect you.
When you learn to hold your peace and power place, you will naturally become more aware of your thoughts, and you can reframe them to align with the new you which wants to emerge. The rebirth and renewal starts to aerate.
When a coachee comes to me and appears over hyped and racing a mile a minute, I have to help them alter their state of being and I do this with a mindfulness practice and breathwork for a few minutes. It immediately changes one’s state and allows them to think. You can do this too!
Learning to create the space from within will enable you to shut out the noise and start to hear the whisperings of your own inner voice, your power point. I started by saying this piece is about rebirth. How do you start existing from the whisperings of your soul? How do you shed skin? I hope these words are giving you small practice that you can implement to see and feel the results of it even within a few days.
