Travelling is a fantastic opportunity to discover new destinations, to immerse yourself in different cultures and food. But all of this excitement and change can take a toll on your skin.
Here are some tips you can follow when travelling to keep your skin feeling its best and keep that glow!
Spritz on a facial mist
Dry air on airplanes, changing weather and jetlag can take their toll on your skin… so pack a travel face mist and keep that skin hydrated. A quick spritz will also feel great too, so refreshing.
Look for mists with ingredients like aloe vera, rose water, or hyaluronic acid for an extra boost of moisture.
Hydrate your lips
For the same reasons as above, you might find your lips get dryer a lot quicker than usual… so don’t skip the lip masks, balms and serums! Look a lip cream with SPF too if you’re going somewhere hot. Look for a balm with some colour for a bit of fun.
Carry make-up wipes
We all know that using makeup wipes on the daily is in the past… but when travelling, you can make an exception. They can be great in a pinch when on the go and you need a little refreshing.
Choose wipes that are gentle on the skin and avoid those with harsh chemicals to prevent irritation.
Unpot your favourite products
Grab yourself some travel containers and fill them up with your favourite skincare and hair products… it’s cheaper and you can choose the items that you use regularly rather than relying on whatever you can find in the travel section.
Of course, if your favourite brand has travel sizes – grab those too for your trip!
Tweak your skincare products
When going on holiday, you’re most likely going somewhere with a different temperature, different humidity and more… make sure to pack products that’ll suit your skin when you’re there.
If you’re traveling to a humid location, opt for lighter, oil-free moisturizers. For colder destinations, pack richer creams to combat dryness. Pay attention to how your skin reacts and be ready to switch things up if needed.
Don’t forget your SPF
It doesn’t matter where you’re jetting off to, always pack your SPF and yes – wear it on travel days too.
Don’t overcomplicate things
It’s your holiday – you could make this a skincare vacay too… maybe take this as an opportunity to let your skin breathe and pair back your skincare routine… save yourself on luggage too!
Leave your acids and retinols at home, particularly if you’re visiting a sunny country- they’ll make your skin extra sensitive to the sun. A week or so off won’t hurt and your skin will probably thank you!
Enjoy your holiday and embrace the new experiences with confidence, knowing your skin is well cared for!
