Beauties, this is your invitation to embrace stillness, your way. In an increasingly busy world, it can be easy to get tied up in knots with rules and the ‘right way’ to do things… even when it comes to self-care.

We’ve all seen the classic image of meditation: sitting cross-legged on a mat with your eyes closed, but meditation doesn’t have to be like that. Meditation can be finding peace in a pause, a moment of grounding and self-connection.

This World Meditation Day, we’re not asking you to sit still with your eyes closed. We’re not even asking for silence or total focus.

So today, we’d like to invite you to…

  • Take a breath.
  • Reconnect with yourself.
  • Allow yourself to simply be.

Today, let’s reframe meditation as a presence…breathe

  • Take a deep breath before replying to a stressful message.
  • Put down your phone during your evening ritual, slow down, enjoy your skincare routine.
  • Notice the little moments of joy: the sunlight spilling through the window, the breeze through the trees
  • Meditation is about choosing a moment of silence, even if its just for 60 seconds.

Try this micro meditation routine today:

This gentle practice only takes a minute and can be done anywhere:

  1. Sit or stand comfortably.
  2. Inhale slowly through your nose.
  3. Exhale gently through your mouth.
  4. Press your feet into the floor.
  5. Place your hand on your heart.
  6. Repeat (aloud or silently): I am here. I am safe. I am enough.
  7. Inhale again. Exhale. Return.

If you’d like to go deeper, we recommend this beautiful Yoga Nidra practice, “The Gift of Calm”, lovingly created by Yasmine Khan of Alchemy and Grace. It’s designed to guide you into deep relaxation and inner stillness.

Let’s reframe meditation as a moment of stillness…  So today, ask yourself: what does stillness look like to you?

Whether you find your peace through breath, movement, skincare or sound: this is your reminder that you are allowed to pause. You’re allowed to rest. Even one breath taken with intention can be a powerful act of self-care.
